It's a fact of life that many of the components in CNC machines, like spindle motors,  produce a lot of electrical noise. This electrical noise is common source of the gremlins that plague many machines. These gremlins very often get blamed on things like the control PC, Mach 3 or SmoothStepper when in reality it is a noise issue.

The best way to combat this problem is to filter out the noise as close to the source as possible and do a neat job with your wiring. For things spindle motors and coolant pump motors you need to have a line filter mounted near the motor. This will keep the majority of the noise generated by these devices out of your controls.
