Using the right tool for the job is essential and using the right cable for the job is just as important. A VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) is a great way to control the speed on a spindle motor, or any other three phase motor. The problem is that they can also put out a lot of electrical noise along the output cable from the VFD to the motor. There is a special type of cable made for this job but it has been notoriously hard to get 'by the foot' and buying a whole spool for one job is very expensive. We are happy to offer high quality Belden 29520C VFD cable in just the quantity you need. We really like this type of VFD cable as it is a little smaller in diameter than the other types, is much more flexible, and easier to use with smaller spindle motors. While VFD cable is more expensive than standard SOJ type cable the few dollars of additional cost will save you from dealing with the headaches of a system plagued with electrical noise issues.
