Overview
The Tandy 102 was released as a modernized successor of the Model 100. It featured the same basic look and feel but was just a bit thinner and had a quieter keyboard which many preferred. The T102 switched to using Flat Flex Cables (FFC) to connect the keyboard and LCD. These worked quite well but after 40 years they are starting to fail.
After a lot of looking we found new cables of the same length and pitch. The original cables had an extra 1/8" wide strip of plastic bonded to the back of the contact area to bring it up to the required thickness for the connectors. After more looking about we found some 1/8" wide self adhesive UMHW tape. Each cable has had the tape applied to bring it up to the same thickness spec of the original.
NOTE: On occasion a connector will go bad and tend to damage the cable when it is inserted. If the cable fit is exceptionally tight it is recommended to replace the connector with a good salvaged one from a donator board.
